CNC Machining
What
What
For the past three years I have been the lead CNC machinist for Terrapin Works, University of Maryland's on campus manufacturing facility. Over the course of that time I have learned, maintained, and trained others in our multi-ton industrial Okuma CNC mill and lathe. During that time, I have run many parts. Some were for my personal projects, some were for researchers, and others were for student clubs like our SAE team.
Problems
Problems
Working with these machines has been at times frustrating, but overall has been a very rewarding experience that not many students get to have in their undergrad. I have learned a lot about manufacturing and automation and would love to continue to work in manufacturing after I graduate.
